THE XMAS ROLL-UP IS BACK!!
The Xmas roll-up is back again this year on Wednesday 22nd December and back to its normal format!! Shotgun start, meal afterwards, prize giving etc etc. Entry fee will be £15 which will include entry, prizes, charity raffle, meal and halfway house drink.
After the heroics of all participants last year in terrible weather, hopefully this year will be back to normal, and we will have good weather as we have had in the past.
Format will be the same as in previous years individual stableford and team. The teams will be drawn at random just prior to the competition. Prizes will go down to at least 6th for individual and 5th for team. Possibly further depending on the entry.
Given that it will be a shotgun start again, there will be a meal of pie & peas after the competition together with a prize presentation in the clubhouse.
The competition will be open to all club members.
Competition playing prizes will be in the form of credit cards for the Pro-Shop. Prizes also for nearest the pin on all par 3s and nearest the pin in 2 on two par 4s. The competition will be a full playing handicap (95% of your course handicap), individual stableford, off the yellow tees. As we will be playing the measured winter course the competition will be qualifying. For the team event it will be 2 scores to count. Any Ladies playing will receive 3 courtesy shots off the red tees and any 3 man teams will get a blind 4th allocated before tee off.
Cost of entry to the competition remains at £15 to include :- Entry, Charity raffle, Prizes, Tea/Coffee at the half way house and a meal afterwards. The Charity raffle will again be in aid of the Community Awareness Programme (CAP) in Wakefield who do such good work in our community for the homeless and needy.
Those wanting a buggy should let me know when they confirm their entry.
Draw for teams will take place just before and available on the morning. Payment will be in cash (not club membership cards) on the day in the Club house prior to tee off. Just to reiterate, a commitment to play is a commitment to pay and no shows will be charged a proportion of the entry fee.
We are obviously dependant on the weather but should good fortune smile on us this year we will have a great days golf!.
