The green staff this week will be carrying out the following work:
* General cutting.
* Verti- draining the fairways. This is to relieve compaction and to help with water passing through the profile.
* Solid tining the greens. This will help to dry the surface to aid airflow in the profile. This work causes minimal disturbance to the surface of the greens.
*The work we are doing on the greens will speed them slightly as the surface dries out. The weather plays a big part in the greens speed, as dry, windy conditions make the greens dry out naturally.
*Spraying the greens (weather dependant) with iron to strengthen the plants protection against diseases. This is part of spraying programme set out by our agronomist.
* Rolling the greens. To help with trueness
*Clearing branches and logs on the 18th.
* The volunteers will be preparing 2 areas on the course for wildflowers to the side of the eight and side of the eighteenth. To help enhance biodiversity and to create an attractive feature on the golf course.
Thanks, from the greens staff
